“That’s not new!” – The emo bracelet

Well, yes and no, we all know emo bracelets are readily available, but this ‘emo bracelet’ from electronics company Phillips is taking a slightly different approach to the usual leather band with a skull on it..

A regular Emo Bracelet:

The gadget has been developed in order to allow those financially minded to make decisions without fear of emotional interference.. ”Driven by fear, they may sell too hastily when share prices drop. Driven by greed, they may be overenthusiastic,” according to a statement released by partner ABN.

What’s more, its been coupled with an Emo Bowl for maximum assurance.

So How does it work?

Well according to an article released by The Australian Age, the bracelet measures signals from the wearers skin, from which it can analyse emotions, and display them back via electrical displays.

Put simply, if you’re feeling particularly apprehensive the lights on the bracelet wil flicker and the bowl’s colours will change from mellow colours to a darker red. How dramatic!

But the bad news is the technology will not be available for a few years down the track, looks like I will just have to keep on making my financial decisions (Regular or large latte..) on my gut instinct.
