Steampunk is a subgenre of speculative fiction, usually set in an anachronistic Victorian or quasi-Victorian alternate history setting. It could be described by the slogan “What the past would look like if the future had happened sooner.” It includes fiction with science fiction, fantasy or horror themes.

This time under examination is the ultra contemporary lighting design, the ‘G19′
the 19 lights are arranged in a simple grid to create this modern and sleek design.

Studio Dror have come up with “the first foldable cantilever chair” that goes from modern art work to functional furniture.
Perhaps one day “we’ll pull up a chair” by simply grabbing it off the wall?
THe chairs really are ingenious, beautifully fashioned and exhibited, perhaps to nice to sit on?
“Studio Dror is an extension of Dror Benshetrit’s work. Being a multidisciplinary design company, founded in 2002, Studio Dror specializes in product design, architecture and art direction. Dror’s client list includes Puma, Rosenthal (Germany), Boffi (Italy), Levi’s, Bombay Sapphire, Surface Magazine, and Kiehl’s.”
“Rubik’s lamp is an innovative project based on the popular toy from the eighties. Much like the original Rubik’s cube, the lamp is composed of 26 smaller cube-like pieces, whose interlocking shapes fit onto each other.
Rubik’s Lamp is a creative solution for customized lighting, and, just like the original toy, presents itself as a fun, challenging puzzle.

This is the Ply Laptop case Brian Kelly, a recent graduate from The University of The Arts Industrial Design Program, currently living in Philadelphia.
The ply laptop case provides a natural, and organic protective casing for your standard 15″ laptop -
The natural, timber grain of the case looks stunning and there’s an obvious high level of craftsmanship.
The “Gluttony” Lamp by designer Luis Luna,
Luis currently residing in Durango, Mexico, describes herself as “a full time dreamer, part time designer and occasional storyteller.”
The lamp is cleverly made from plastic cuttlery, and it’s title ‘gluttony’ hints at a mataphoric story to the design as well -
