Dumbo Feather, Pass it on

Dumbo Feather is the type of publication you might expect to see grace the coffee table of a trendy apartment, or, in my case, the stall of a design market.

Even as a first impression, one can tell that Dumbo feather is a lovingly crafted and very personal publication, close to the hearts of both it’s writers and faithful readers.

Dumbo Feather, Pass it on - issue 17

“I’ll grab the current issue and a years subscription, cheers, thanks.”

Needless to say, it was love at first sight. A quick flick through and I was hooked.

Kate Bezar and the team at Dumbo feather have scoured the world to bring their readers, individual, original interviews with, to be honest, people who, on the surface may seem your average, 1 of billions everyday earth citizens.

However, It quickly becomes clear that in fact you as a reader are being offered a small window in the life of someone unique and certainly with something (whether it be their life’s work on a story) worth sharing.

The bus to work this morning was different, the usual blaring earphones to keep myself awake were absent, and instead I’d finally had a chance to sit down and get into DF properly. The bus ride was far too short, in the half hour it takes me to get to work I’d learnt briefly of 5 amazing individuals;

Lynette Chiang

and finally, my personal favourite, Lynette Chiang, the biking blogger who quit her day job, and now cycles the world, blogging and filming as she goes.

Quite the varied bunch of people represented, all from different walks of life, but still, with a couple things in common;

they all have a passion for their projects, work and lives..

..and all inspire others to do the same.

Dumbo feather is truly something special, provided in 4 issues a year are the life and times of people whose passion for what they do and what they represent is cause for taking action in one’s own life.

A huge thanks to Kate and the team for sharing a little bit of the world with me.
