Cardboard lamps via 2modern Design

A great post from over at 2modern Design are these cardboard lamps !

They’re simple, cheap, visually effective and environmentally friendly – and if you’re a little creative could be a nice little DIY project!

“The first one is the “not a box” of David Graas.  A model that include everything for the installation of the lamp inside of the same special box.  A very creative idea, via TheDieline.”

“Now, another lamp with an surprise inside, in this case we are talking about a bottle of wine!, yes, because the “Ciclus” is a wine packaging in the beginning, that can be transformed in a lamp, by following a few steps printed on the same box.  This lamp is a design by Tatiana Guimarães, via momeld.”

“And for dessert, this set of cardboard lamps by graypants, the “Scrap lights“.  Don’t you love the nice light texture that these lamps leaves in the walls? Certainly I do.”

The Scrap Lights are by far my favourite, as was pointed out in the original post I love the patterns that are thrown against the walls – and the lamps themselves are great.

Not too sure about the dangling black cords though, they sadly take away from the design a little.

Captain Feline – Blending Pop Culture with Cats

felineship

Captain Feline employs anthropomorphism to blend pop culture with cats. The results are a collection of fun t-shirts and limited edition art prints – purr-fect for displaying a combined love of cats and cult movie characters! Whilst the debut t-shirt illustrations by Dave are inspired by cult and classic movie characters, the team plan to increase the range to feature other pop culture icons as they grow and expand.
