Young Architect Toy…

So i came across this whilst searching around Amazon -

The stereotypical child architect...? well he does look like a wanker i guess.

The young architect by …‘Poof-Slinky’ (no….really…)

Build your own 3-D architectural models – just like real architects do!

  • Reusable design and building set
  • Create 3-D models in three easy steps
  • Design floor plans with room templates
  • Furnish rooms with the furniture guide and colored pencils
  • Build a 3-D model on top of the floor plan
  • 9 room templates

Why isn't this child wearing all black?

Learn to envision different uses of space, proportion and architectural design to create your own unique dream house.

“I bought this for my 14 year old son and was very disappointed…. A pad of graph paper, plastic templates that are available at office supply stores, a good metal ruler, some paper and tape are a better investment than this. ”

“I agree …this item disappointing. Actually, that’s putting it mildly. (…) all you get is few pieces of acrylic, tracing paper, a few peel and stick windows and four colored pencils. The “manual” is a 4-page booklet with little useful information in it. The people selling this should be ashamed of foisting it on gullible consumers (like me). Borders on being a scam. ”

All for the low, low price of US$55

I have come up with a cheaper solution, rather than spending a lot of money on your child (they certainly wont have money if they do make it to be an architect after all!) why not give them the real experience?

Simply keep your child awake for 40 hours straight, get them addicted to red bull and have them design a fully drafted and documented 4 bedroon, 2 bathroom, living, dining and kitched 6 star enegy rating house that complies with building codes and regulations and uses solely recycled materials - by tomorrow.
